Distinguished Plant

This imprisoned internal plant,
Held captive by this invisible stone wall
Who only takes in little light
Coming through a window enthrall
It's 'simple enough', it's 'almost', it thinks
Stuck in it's complacency above all
This is enough light, no need to go further
Spitting at the Lord, feeling so tall
Your water means nothing said pride.

This distinguished external plant,
Swaying about in the harsh storm,
Adapting and understanding,
Strong, not willing to conform.
Storm, you will not gain me!
My Lord knows I am not lukewarm.
I stand and live for Him,
So...Dark Storm, taking an intimidating form
Keep away, so I may sing to my Lord a hymn.
